Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Are We Even ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.
Accounts
Split the Bill: No account is required. You can use this feature immediately without signing up.
Trial, Event Pass, and Subscription: An account is required. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.
You agree to provide accurate information when creating your account and to keep this information up to date.
Plans: Split the Bill, Trial, Event Pass, and Subscription
Split the Bill (Free)
Split the Bill is free forever with no account required. It allows you to split a one-off bill with your group. Free users receive up to 3 receipt scans. Results are calculated in real-time based on the data you provide.
Free Trial
New users may access a 14-day free trial for one group. No payment information is required for the trial. After the trial period, the group will be locked until a paid plan is activated.
Event Pass
An Event Pass provides access to one group for 7 or 30 days depending on the pass purchased. After expiration, the group will be locked. You may purchase a new Event Pass or switch to a Subscription to restore access.
Subscription
A Subscription provides unlimited access to unlimited groups for the duration of the subscription period (monthly or yearly). Only one person in a group needs an active subscription — everyone in the group is covered.
Payments and Renewals
Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled. You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings.
Prices are subject to change with reasonable notice. Any price changes will apply to the next billing cycle after notice is given.
Refunds
Event Passes are non-refundable once purchased. For subscriptions, if you are unsatisfied with the Service, please contact us within 7 days of your initial purchase to request a refund. For complete details, see our Refund Policy.
User Content
You retain ownership of any content you submit to the Service, including expense descriptions and group information. By submitting content, you grant us a license to store and display that content as necessary to provide the Service.
You are solely responsible for the content you submit and agree not to submit content that is illegal, harmful, or infringes on the rights of others.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any illegal purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service
- Use the Service to harass or harm others
- Create multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions or abuse free trials
Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Are We Even does not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
We do not provide financial advice and are not responsible for any disputes between group members. The Service shows calculated outcomes based on the data you provide — we do not move money or facilitate payments.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Are We Even shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.
Our total liability for any claims arising from the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the twelve months preceding the claim.
Account Deletion
You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at support@areweeven.com.
Deletion timeline: Account deletion requests are processed within 30 days from the date of your request.
What gets deleted:
- Your account credentials and profile information
- Your email address and contact information
- Groups you created and all associated expenses
- Receipt images and scanned data
What may be retained: Anonymized analytics data (with all personally identifiable information removed) may be retained for up to 24 months for system performance and improvement purposes. We may also retain records required for legal compliance, fraud prevention, or to resolve disputes.
Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting a notice on the Service or sending you an email. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
